Modernization of the Farming Industry - Photography

Growing up, I spent my summers in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. In the 1850s, sugar shacks (where maple syrup was produced) could be found everywhere, along with other farms, such as wheat, livestock, and more. By the 1980s, many of the farms couldn't keep up with the modernization of the farming industry, which has lead many of the farms to close. This resulted in tons of abandon farms frozen in time. As I return to Quebec every summer, the buildings and remnants of these farms to fade away more and more. As I explored these places, it created a sad feeling of what life use to be like, more simple.
